Ishtar is a high contrast sans serif display font inspired by vintage fashion magazines with clean lines and sharp edges for a touch of femininity and elegance.

Reference

I was inspired by vintage fashion magazines such as Didot and Bodoni. However, heavy serif fonts have become the stereotype for feminine designs. So I wanted to create a modern fashion typeface that references the past, but is more concise and groundbreaking.

Experiment

During the design process, I tried not to use serifs, but to keep the high contrast and sharp edges to make it look clean and modern.

Font Display

I named the font "Ishtar", the Queen of Heaven to the people of ancient Mesopotamia, the most important female deity in their pantheon. Used to represent the power and charm of femininity.
